Lubricant Eye Drops:This medication is used to relieve dry, irritated eyes. Common causes for dry eyes include wind, sun, heating/air conditioning, computer use/reading, and certain medications.

This product may contain 1 or more of the following ingredients: carboxymethylcellulose, dextran, glycerin, hypromellose, polyethylene glycol 400 (PEG 400), polysorbate, polyvinyl alcohol, povidone, or propylene glycol, among others.

Eye lubricants keep the eye moist, help to protect the eye from injury and infection, and decrease symptoms of dry eyes such as burning, itching, and feeling as if something is in the eye.

  1. In healthy mammalian eyes, the cornea is continually kept wet and nourished by basal tears. They lubricate the eye, and help to keep it clear of dust. Tear fluid contains water, mucin, lipids, lysozyme, lactoferrin, lipocalin, lacritin, immunoglobulins, glucose, urea, sodium, and potassium...

    1. While eye drops provide relief for short term dry eyes, it's best not to overdose them as it can lead to symptoms that affect your eye. Generally, the eye drop ingredients are similar and causes your eye to be moist and comfortable. However, do not use certain eye drops such as decongestant ones because while those are promised to give relief from red eyes, they will worsen symptoms and overall give a negative effect to your eye. The best thing for you to do of course is to constantly blink as that will keep moisture coming to your eye (just be sure not to be winking at people because of this) :)
